Last day in New Hampshire

Today is our last day in New Hampshire . We visited Glen Ellis Falls in the White Mountians National Forest. Glen Ellis Falls is located just a half mile south of the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center on the Ellis River. It's one of the tallest falls in New Hampshire and surely one of the prettiest. It's very easy to get to and just a short walk from the road. You can get close enough to the falls to feel a shower of mist, very nice on a hot day!GLEN ELLIS FALLS : Height 64 feet. Here the forces of nature provide their own spectacular show. The fall of water attests to the tremendous powers of moving water. From the snow-covered or rain-drenched peaks this river is born to feed others. In the few seconds this message has held your interest, a minimum of 600 gallons of water has passed this point. At this rate, the daily needs of a city of 25,000 people could be satisfied. Water, indispensable to the needs of man is one of the resources of the White Mountain National Forest. Its waters begin their downward flow from the eastern slopes of Mount Washington (Elevation 6,288 feet). Near Glen, New Hampshire, it joins the Saco River which meanders through Maine to the Atlantic Ocean.
